From Warehouse to Museum

August 23, 2017

This piece of video from 2008 shows the many remains that were warehoused for future decisions of where some of these remains should be placed in the 9/11 Museum.  It is amazing to see the meticulous preparation and storing that took place.  The hearts of all those who were involved from the hauling and moving from the debris site to each relic being placed down in a spot where an idea could form for remembrance in the museum, is remarkable.  I have spoken with Jan Ramirez over the phone and to several of the people who work at the museum and know all too well just how sacred each piece is.  As we think of that day, take the time to also think about all the warmth that comes from all of the workers at each museum, including the Pentagon Memorial and also the Flight 93 Memorial.  They serve not only as employees, but are sometimes the first voices many people hear, to explain  about each memorial to educate everyone.
